Learn how to correctly install your UCWS sunshades onto your car windows. Follow these instructions to ensure the best coverage and protection.

Quick Installation Guide

1. Attach the Suction Cups to the Shades

  • Lay the shade flat with the foil side up.
  • Insert the end of the suction cup through the shade eyelet so that the cup is facing up.
  • Screw the screw caps onto the suction cups from the other side of the shade.
  • Repeat until all eyelets have a suction cup attached.

2. Prep Your Car Window & Shades

  • Wipe the glass with isopropyl alcohol cleaner to remove oils and residue.
  • Clean the suction cups before installation.
  • Ensure the glass surface is completely dry before attaching the shades.

3. Determine Which Shades Go on Which Window

Each shade has a tag with a code that explains which window of the car the shade is designed to attach to. The tag code outlines the vehicle make & model and the window. For example, the code TY-LC76-RWR translates to Toyota Land Cruiser 76, Rear Window Right.

4. Attach Shades to the Car Window

  • Align the top corners of the shade with the corners of the window (where the glass meets the window seal).
  • Firmly press the suction cups onto the glass.
  • Ensure all suction cups are securely attached.
  • UCWS shades are designed to match the exact dimensions of your windows. The shades should sit flush within the window's edges. Remove and reapply the shades if they are not sitting perfectly.

How to Remove the Window Shades

  • Unscrew the screw caps from the attached window shade.
  • Lift the shade away from the window.
  • The suction cups will remain attached to the window for easy reinstallation.
  • If you also want to remove the suction cups, individually lift each suction cup away from the glass surface. Start on one side of the suction cup to break the seal against the glass.
  • Do not pull the shades hoping that the suction cups will come off with them. The suction cups are very strong, and attempting to remove them this way may damage your shades.
  • Tightly roll the shades and place them into the storage bag. Place the shades into the bag without the suction cups attached for better storage.

Care & Maintenance

  • Avoid bending or cutting shades.
  • Clean and store shades in the provided storage bag when not in use.
  • Spare suction cups and screw caps are included in case of accidental loss or damage.
